Friday’s Forthcoming Releases [Part 1]

BOB DYLAN "Christmas In The Heart" [Release date 12/10/2009]

CD   I  Deluxe CD

Bob Dylan will release a brand new
album of holiday songs, Christmas In The Heart, on Monday, October 12th. 'Christmas In The Heart' will be the
47th album from Bob Dylan, and follows his worldwide chart-topping 'Together
Through Life', released earlier this year. Songs performed by Dylan on this new
album include, 'Here Comes Santa Claus,' 'Winter Wonderland,' 'Little Drummer
Boy' and 'Must Be Santa.'

Bob Dylan's four previous studio
albums have been universally hailed as among the best of his storied career,
achieving new levels of commercial success and critical acclaim for the artist.
The Platinum-selling 'Time Out Of Mind' from 1997 earned multiple Grammy Awards,
including Album Of The Year, while 'Love and Theft' continued Dylan's Platinum
streak and earned several Grammy nominations and a statue for Best Contemporary
Folk album.  Modern Times, released in 2006, became one of the artist’s
biggest albums worldwide, selling more than 2.5 million copies and earning Dylan
two more Grammys.

Those four releases fell within a
12-year creative span that also included an Oscar and Golden Globe-winning tune,
'Things Have Changed,' from the film 'Wonder Boys', in 2001; a worldwide best
selling memoir, 'Chronicles Vol. 1,' which spent 19 weeks on the New York Times
Best Seller List, in 2004; a Martin Scorsese-directed documentary, 'No Direction
Home', in 2005; and several volumes of the best-selling 'Bootleg Series', which
culminated in last year's highly-acclaimed 'Tell Tale

& THE BUNNYMEN ‘The Fountain’ [Release Date

The 10th studio album from Echo and
the Bunnymen sees the band return to the Warner Music fold.

As bashful as ever Ian McCulloch
affirms "It's our best album since 'What Are
You Gonna Do With Your Life?' No actually, I'm gonna say it's the best album
since 'Ocean Rain'. 'The Idolness Of Gods" is possibly the greatest song I've
ever written

CRIMSON ‘In The Court Of The Crimson King’ [Release Date

'In The Court Of The Crimson King'
is one the most revered rock albums of all time. Robert Fripp & Steven
Wilson (Porcupine Tree) have collaborated to produce a completely new stereo mix
drawn directly from the original multi-track tapes.

CD1 features the new mix plus 5
additional tracks drawn from the original recording sessions – a complete
version of Moonchild (edited on the new stereo mix), a flute/guitar duet of 'I
Talk To The Wind', an alternate mix of 'I Talk To The Wind', the full 'Epitaph'
backing track and the session recording of the 'wind' noises used to introduce
the album at the start of '21st Century Schizoid Man'.
CD2 features the 2004 remaster of
the original album drawn from the original master tape plus bonus tracks
including the Morgan studios instrumental take of '21st Century Schizoid Man', 2
tracks from 1969 BBC John Peel sessions, ('21st Century Schizoid Man' & 'I
Talk To The Wind' – the latter previously unreleased,) and de-clicked vinyl
transfer of the original mono a+b side single edits of 'In The Court Of The
Crimson King'.
Presented with new sleeve notes by
Robert Fripp & King Crimson biographer Sid Smith along with rare photos
& archive material.
Recorded over a period of 10 days in
August 1969 and released on October 10th of the same year, 'In The Court Of The
Crimson King' stands as one of the defining albums of British rock music &
one of the finest debut albums of all time. Described at the time as "an uncanny
masterpiece" by Pete Townshend, the album has achieved legendary status over the
years. It is the only studio document of an extraordinary year in the life of
King Crimson; a year that began with the group's first rehearsals on January
13th, included a residency at the Marquee Club, a concert in Hyde Park with The
Rolling Stones, the recording and release of the album and ended with the
dissolution of the line-up at the close of Crimson's first American tour in
Now expanded with a completely new
mix, previously unreleased tracks, Steven Wilson said of the mixing work "The
intention is certainly not to try to replace or supersede the 1969 mix (which,
like many classic albums, is what it is partly because of the limitations of the
original recording circumstances), but to provide an alternate perspective to
what must now be considered not only a rock masterpiece, but also the foundation
stone of progressive rock".

Editors release their third album,
'In This Light And On This Evening' on 12th October. The album represents a
significant step forward for the band following the huge successes of debut
album 'The Back Room' and the Number One follow up 'An End Has A

There have been many changes to life
in Editors since 'An End Has A Start' broke the band worldwide and established
the then Birmingham based four piece as one of the UK's most prominent bands of
recent times. Bassist Russell Leech and guitarist Chris Urbanowicz are now
resident in New
whilst singer Tom Smith has become a father. These
changes added to the sense that 'In This Light And On This Evening' was the
start of a new chapter for Editors and the band came together in London for the recording
sessions with producer Flood at the start of 2009 with a determination to push
their sound into wholly new territory. Whilst all four members were keen to make
a far more electronic record, they were determined to 'give the machines a human
feel' in the words of lead singer Tom Smith.

London dominates
the record, both lyrically and musically. According to Tom, now resident in the
capital for four years, 'I actually think it's in every song. In the right time
and place, in the right light and on the right evening, something you have seen
1,000 times before can still take your breath away' whilst the background of
electronic whirrs and hums that run under many of the tracks mimic the constant
background noise of the city.

BURKE ‘Bad Boys’ [Release Date 12/10/2009]

BURKE ‘Overcome’ [Release Date 19/10/2009]

With a wilfully mischievous glint in
her eye, 21 year old Alexandra Burke is sitting on one of the hottest pop debuts
of the decade. From the rumbling first bars of her sci-fi disco stormer single
'Bad Boys', to the Red One fashioned dancehall groove of 'Dumb', Alexandra's
A-list produced 'Overcome' is a party monster of a record, poised to knock the
socks off even the most cynical pop enthusiast.

Recorded over six months, 'Overcome'
is a collection of club smashes ('All Night', 'Dumb', 'Broken Heals') peppered
with astonishingly soul-bearing slow jams ('Silence', 'Perfect'.) Created with
the help of perhaps the industries most in demand production houses [Roc Nation
and Jay-Z, The Phantom Boyz, Red One, Stargate and The Freemasons] the album is
a sonic manifestation of Alexandra's ballsy personality, with the lady herself
describing the collection as 'a

Alexandra says "I said to my
manager I want my music to be fun, to be uplifting and to be bold. I want it to
reflect my personality. I want it to be in your face, I want it to be a beast. I
want it to be energetic and fun. When I record the ballads I want to cry. And if
I go through a rollercoaster recording this album then I want the listener to go
through a rollercoaster when they hear it. I said exactly the same thing to
Simon Cowell and I could see the relief on his face in the meeting. He said
"whatever you do, it has got to come from the

The album is preceeded by 'Bad
Boys,' 'Overcome's first single. The irresistible, one-listen smash is already
morphing Alexandra's profile from show winner to market leader.
US rapper Flo Rida's split second
decision to guest on the track was just a neat seal of international approval
that proves what many suspected from Alexandra's star turn in last year's X
Factor. Since debuting on Radio One's Chris Moyles breakfast show, the song has
had pop aficionados and critics in rapture; with Gordon Smart from The Sun’s
Bizarre column calling the single 'A sure-fire Number One' and
branding it 'phenomenal.'

Alexandra Burke has had a
sensational eight months since being crowned The X Factor champion in December
2008. Her debut single release, 'Hallelujah', became the Christmas No.1 and the
fastest selling single by a female artist in UK chart
history. The song also broke another record by becoming the fastest selling
download single across Europe, selling more
downloads in two days than the previous record holder sold in a week. In
February 2009 Alexandra headlined the massive X Factor Live tour, playing to
sell out Arenas across the UK. Now, after delivering a faultless
debut album, Alexandra is ready to take charge of the world's pop charts. As the
lady herself exclaims "This is just the

HOUSTON ‘I Look To You’ [Release Date

Superstars don't come much bigger
than Whitney Houston and she is adding even more Awards to her already full
mantelpiece. 'I Look To You' has entered at #1 in the US album charts
with 305,000 sales. The biggest week one sale of her career and the biggest of
any female artist this year. Whitney's second album 'Whitney' was the first ever
by a female artist to enter the US chart at #1 in 1987. Her last #1
album 'Bodyguard' spent 20 weeks at the top spot in

On 'I Look To You', her first studio
album since 2002, Houston has once again teamed up with her longtime
collaborator, the legendary music business executive Clive Davis. "This album
has more elements than any other Whitney album and that has made it very
exciting to work on," says Davis. "Almost every song is a candidate for a

Previewed by Davis and Houston last
month at an exclusive global playback in London – to an astonishing audience reaction –
'I Look To You' features an array of A-list writers and producers. Soul music
pioneer R Kelly wrote title track 'I Look To You', a classic – and rather
poignant – Whitney ballad. Hit-machine Stargate, responsible for Beyonce's
'Irreplaceable' and Jordin Sparks' 'No Air' amongst many other recent hits,
wrote the contagious uptempo cut 'Call You Tonight.' Songwriting royalty Diane
Warren delivers a top-drawer anthem in the personal 'I Didn't Know My Own
Strength', and lead single 'Million Dollar Bill' was written by Alicia Keys and
is a classic two-step, foot tapping summer anthem.

Whitney Houston has sold an
incredible 134 million albums, 11 million in the UK alone. Little
wonder then that ‘I Look To You’ is one of the most anticipated albums of this
or any other year.

‘Sounds Awake’ [Release Date 12/10/2009]

Karnivool are set to release new
album 'Sound Awake' on the 19th October 2009. The band are also set to support
Skindred throughout September and October 2009 across the UK.

Already established as one of
Australia's biggest rock
bands, Karnivool are set to take the UK (and world) by storm in late 2009.
Since forming in 1997 the Perth based five piece recorded two critically
acclaimed EPs before releasing their debut album 'Themata' in 2005. The debut
saw them shifting over 32,000 albums independently in Australia and
consequently signing an international licensing deal with Bieler Bros. Karnivool
quickly established themselves as one of the premier rock bands in their
homeland and a stunning live draw.

Produced by Forrester Savell
(Helmet, The Butterfly Effect), 'Sound Awake' shows a band at the height of
their powers – and the album went Gold in Australia after
just three weeks. From the jagged driving guitars and epic chorus of lead single
'Set Fire To The Hive' to the bass lead 'Goliath', to the soaring melodies of
“All I Know' to the brooding and then balls out rock of 'New Day', this is an
album that is gloriously anthemic, yet progressive in every sense of the word.
Rock bombast combined with innovative riffing, experimental tuning, intriguing
time-signatures and spine-tingling
