The temptation to fill this with a number of train-related puns is almost too great, but needless to say, we are chuffed that this collection has pulled in…
Steam train records, believe it or not, are sometimes quite collectable and are not something we see every day. We recently picked up a collection of rarities, such as Kings of the Chilterns, Exhibitionist Engines, Mixed Train to Rosporden, and many more rarities from the wonderful world of steam. You can relax and unwind to the ambient sounds of classic engines, winding their way through the hills during a bygone era.
Check out the video below that shows just some of the highlights in the collection, and visit out store for more Steam train titles.
The Triumph Of An A.4 Pacific: 1963 UK Stereo LP featuring recordings made during a record breaking journey between Kings Cross and Doncaster on 23rd May 1959, in which ‘A.4 ‘ Pacific No. 60007 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’, driven by Bill Hoole, reached a speed of 112 MPH on the return journey, fully laminated flipback picture sleeve. The flimsy sleeve shows a degree of shelfwear, mostly as a result of the ‘floating’ laminate used not reaching the edges of the sleeve whereas the glue did, leading to a bit of a tide mark edge. The vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play ZDA21).
