Ain’t nothing but a jazz thing here at 991.com this week with a vast array of top jazz rare vinyl and CDs coming through the doors, here’s a few to whet your jazz whistle, see them all in our Jazz collectors store.
The Graham Collier Sextet – Down Another Road: 1969 UK 6-track stereo LP, a cult British jazz album that is only now starting to receive the accolade it deserves, containing carefully arranged & beautifully constructed compositions with a consistently high performance level, fully laminated picture sleeve with album notes penned by Collier himself. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear & the vinyl remains in excellent condition with just a couple of cosmetic surface scuffs to show for nearly fifty years.
Stan Tracey – With Love From Jazz: Gorgeous Brit-Jazz rarity 1968 UK 8-track mono LP, also starring Bobby Wellins [Tenor Sax], Dave Green [Bass] & Jack Dougan [Drums], unique front laminated flipback picture sleeve with company inner. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with minor creasing to the laminate in places and a bit of edge scuffing at the opening and the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play
Charles Mingus – Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus: 2009 US Universal Music ‘Special Markets’ limited ‘The Impulse!’ reissue 7-track double 45rpm LP pressed on Audiophile quality 180 Gram Heavyweight Virgin Vinyl, mastered by AcousTech from the original analog master tapes, originally released in 1963 featuring a collaboration with arranger/orchestrator Bob Hammer to score the music for a large ensemble of brass and saxophones, glossy gatefold picture sleeve with an AnalogueProductions individually numbered sticker on the reverse. This example remains factory sealed from new in the perforated bag with breather holes, therefore in an unplayed condition
