David Bowie was one of the most iconic figures in British music, with a history and catalogue unlike any other. He flirted with many different styles throughout his illustrious career, taking influence from rock, pop, prog, punk, drum ‘n’ bass and just about any genre you can name, creating some of the most unique compositions committed to tape. Right up until his final album, Blackstar, Bowie was constantly reinventing his sound.
His untimely passing in 2016 has left a hole in the music world, but his legacy lives on through fans and collectors. DAVID BOWIE Blackstar (Extremely Rare & Limited 2016 US 7-track LP pressed on 180 gram Clear Vinyl, his twenty-fifth and final studio album including the 9:59 title track and Lazarus, die-cut ‘star’ gatefold picture sleeve with digitaldownload card & 16 page booklet. This was originally purchased from Bowie’s online website, and remains factory sealed with the ‘Parental Advisory’ sticker on the front and ‘8 88751 88851 7’ barcode sticker on the reverse. But that is not all,this example also includes the rare original set of three different 17″ x 11″ high quality lithograph prints which were sold as a bundle with the LP with initial orders only. Every book is beautifully printed onto luxurious heavyweight art paper with over TWO HUNDRED previously unpublished photographs. This large format volume [320mm x 240mm] is quarter bound in red leather by hand with padded printed Imitlin boards, embossed silk badge, gold tooling and gilt page edging, signed by Geoff MacCormack. Presented in a valise style case which opens completely flat, refolds and magnetically fastens snugly around the book plus housed in a custom printed pull-string cloth protective bag & original printed card mailer. Yet another superb book of the quality we have come to expect from Genesis!)
