The Devil’s Music – Sold!

"Rock has always been the Devil's music . . . I believe rock and roll is dangerous…" – David Bowie (Rolling Stone magazine Feb. 12, 1976) "I'm the devil's advocate. We have our own worshippers who are called 'groupies'. Girls will give their bodies to musicians as you would give a sacrifice to a god." – Frank Zappa (Peters Brothers, What About Christian Rock) The main interval of dissonance used in Western musical harmony is the tritone, otherwise known as a diminished or 'flattened' fifth. The flat 5th is also commonly referred to as a 'blue' or 'devil's' note. Peoples of faith and good will considered the tritone damning to the soul, and for whoever played them, liable to culminate in the most hellish fate come judgement day. Evils such as these were born and bred for the Geordie band Venom though… principally, it would seem, in the darkest recesses of Newcastle. It is with great pleasure then, in the name of Satan (and the lovely Grim North), that we have just sold our first original copy of their sickening and unearthly Black Metal LP.
