It's not often that two legends in music get together to record a full album, and even rarer that they're from completely opposite ends of the musical spectrum. Ex-Soundgarden/Audioslave vocalist Chris Cornell has teamed up with hip hop and pop super-producer Timbaland to create an extraordinary new album entitled 'Scream' which will be released on 23 March. The first single from the record will be 'Part Of Me' released on 9 March. All the songs on 'Scream' which were written by Chris Cornell and produced by Timbaland make up an album that was inspired partly by Pink Floyd's all-time classic album 'The Wall'. All 13 of the songs on 'Scream' flow into each other giving it the feel of one complete work with no breaks, drawing on both artists talents to re-write the modern musical rulebook.

The starting point for Sweet guitarist Andy Scott, The Elastic Band emerged from the ashes of mid-60s Welsh soul revue the Silverstone Set to make a couple of highly-regarded 1968 mod pop/blue-eyed soul singles for Decca. But a year on the underground gig circuit supporting the likes of Hendrix and Pink Floyd impacted significantly on the bands musical direction. When they returned to the studio in the summer of 1969, it was to cut Expansions On Life, a dazzling 50-minute collection of late psychedelic/early progressive rock moves which suggested that the new-look Elastic Band could be genuine contenders. Inexplicably, though, Decca delayed its release until March 1970, by which time the band had fallen apart, lead singer Ted Yeadon having left in December 1969 to replace Steve Ellis in the Love Affair. As a result, Decca barely promoted the album, which duly sank without trace. * File under: 60's Psych * Established for the last couple of decades as a heavy duty rarity amongst collectors of vintage British psychedelia and progressive rock * First-ever official UK reissue Includes bumper 20-page booklet, extensive liner notes, restored artwork and master-tape sound as well as some priceless photographs * Features all four tracks from the bands equally collectable 45s, including the regularly compiled psychedelic pop nugget 8 Hours Of Paradise
My two biggest successes would have to be the Rolling Stones and the Small Faces; equally satisfying, but not as commercially successful, was Duncan Browne. Duncan was amazingso talented. It may have said on the records Produced by Andrew Loog Oldham, but all I did was book the studio and watch the lad do his magic. And magic it was. Thus spake former Stones manager Andrew Oldham, who signed the late Duncan Browne to his record label, Immediate, in 1967. Oldham duly oversaw the recording of Duncans 1968 debut album Give Me Take You, which, as with several other Oldham projects of the time (notably the Billy Nicholls album Would You Believe), only received limited distribution due to Immediates crippling financial problems. Now widely acknowledged as a genuine UK baroque pop/psychedelic folk classic, Give Me Take You has long been a heavily sought-after album on the collectors circuit, with original copies selling for several hundred pounds. It has also attracted significant critical acclaim, being described by one monthly music magazine as an English Astral Weeks, and regularly compared to such Spirit of the Age masterpieces as The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society, the Zombies Odessey & Oracle and Nick Drakes Five Leaves Left. * Heavily sought after reissue * Featuring full liner notes and rare photos/memorabilia * Includes eleven bonus tracks to the original stereo album, including mono single mixes, an aborted demo by Brownes short-lived Summer-of-67 flower power outfit Lorel and perhaps most intriguingly of all, some fascinating pre-album rehearsal performances that are now being made available for the first time
Depeche Mode are a rare band, carefully walking the fine line between mainstream and alternative audiences, without ever compromising their sound. Having formed in 1980, in Basildon, Essex, Depeche Mode are one of the longest running and most influential bands to have emerged from the then blossoming New Wave scene. This tribute to them is a testament to that, with bands from a wide array of musical genres paying homage to Depeche Mode.

Born Neville Keighley, Some released his first LP Some People in 1985 and the title track was a club hit. Although Some's contribution to the Pretty in Pink soundtrack, "Round, Round," did not penetrate the mainstream, it introduced Some to an audience outside of discotheques. Produced by Bernard Edwards, "Round, Round" had enough electric guitars to seduce rock fans while maintaining the interest of the dance crowd with its pounding groove. Imagination, a song from Some People, was reissued in 1986, peaking at number 17 on the U.K. pop charts. Both Some People and Imagination were remixed several times. In 1987, Some recorded his self-titled second album, but it failed to duplicate the success of his debut. Some then disappeared from the music scene, lost in an '80s "Where Are They Now?" file until 1993 when he released Living Your Life. * Much sought after release on CD * New sleeve-notes by Classic Rocks Malcolm Dome * Contains the top 20 hit Imagination
