Just Dusty – the definitive Dusty Springfield collection will be released through UMTV on 13th April and will feature all her greatest solo tracks including 'I Only Want To Be With You', 'Stay Awhile', 'I Just Don't Know What Do To With Myself', 'The Look Of Love', 'Take Another Little Piece Of My Heart' and 'Son Of A Preacher Man'. As a solo artist, Dusty attained phenomenal success throughout her career. In the six year period between 1963 and 1969 she had 17 UK chart entries of which 10 were Top Ten singles. 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me' released in 1966 went to the number 1 slot in the UK and remained in the UK charts for an impressive 13 weeks. Cited as one of the leading female British pop artists of all time, Dusty also made a huge impression on the US market. She was accredited (alongside The Beatles and The Dave Clark Five) in the early to mid-60s as spearheading the so-called 'British Invasion' of the American pop charts. Influenced by artists such as Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald and the sounds of Motown Dusty became one of the most significant stars of the British Pop Scene and still influences popular artists today – most notably the Platinum selling artists Amy Winehouse and Duffy. In a year when we celebrate 50 years of Motown Dusty herself campaigned to get little known American Soul singers a better audience in the UK hosting The Sound Of Motown, a Ready, Steady, Go! special edition in 1965. In March 1999 Dusty Springfield was honoured with the Order Of The British Empire (O.B.E) and in November 2006 (following her death in March 1999) she became the first British female solo artist to be inducted into the UK Music Hall Of Fame, having already been inducted into the US Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. 'Just Dusty' will showcase the greatest tracks from her career, starting in 1963 with her first solo song 'I Only Want To Be With You' through to 'Take Another Little Piece Of My Heart' and 1989s 'In Private'.

THE LIVING END 'White Noise' CD Release Date 13/04/2009

"White Noise simply captures the finest live band Australia has produced since AC/DC firing off a couple of extra cylinders" **** Rolling Stone 1998 saw The Living End unleash their seminal [now 5x platinum] self titled debut album. The subsequent years produced sold-out world tours, festival headlining appearances, award statuettes, and various magazine covers. Now 11 years on, the band return with what critics are describing as their best work to date in the form of album number 5 'White Noise'. After months of creative frustration guitarist/vocalist Chris Cheney walked into band practice one day in late-2007 and showcased a riff – a single seventies-inspired behemoth of a riff that kicked off album opener 'How Do We Know' – and The Living End's destiny was sealed. He and band mates Scott Owen [bass] and Andy Strachan [drums] saw months of irritation vanish… and quickly embracing the heavier, edgier direction, the songs just flowed. To help them realize their vision for 'White Noise' The Living End wanted to enlist a producer who, in Cheney's words, could "capture the energy and attack we are after". Enter John Agnello – whose previous client list includes such luminaries as Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and The Hold Steady. Mixed and mastered in a blistering 8 days by studio legend Brendan O'Brien [who at the time was also working on records by AC/DC and Pearl Jam], 'White Noise' displays a fusion of their love of the classic sounds of Zeppelin, Sabbath and of course AC/DC whilst injecting it with a fresh sense of eclectic adventure. The album kicks off with the engaging brilliance of 'How Do We Know' before the band light the fuse an explode with 'Raise The Alarm'. 'White Noise' and 'Hey, Hey, Disbeliever' sublimely showcase their new trademark sound, whilst 'Make The Call' and 'Loaded Gun' offer some no-nonsense straight up classic rock.

SILVERSUN PICKUPS 'Swoon' CD Release Date 13/04/2009

With the help of the producer and mixer team of Dave Cooley and Tony Hoffer, Silversun Pickups created an album that vocalist / guitarist Brian Aubert says, "sounds like a nervous breakdown". The songs are taut, embellished in places with string arrangements that compliment the band's trademark distortion. Aubert's lyrics narrate personal traumas as the album weaves a tapestry of beauty and aggression. The album's release will be preceded by the single 'There's No Secrets This Year' on April 6th. "I'm really proud of 'Swoon',' says Aubert. "I felt that we started this thing with a complete blank slate just kind of staring at a big mountain, not knowing where this was going to go. Everyone worked so insanely hard and I feel like you hear that we were in there every day trying to make the best songs that we could." With only a short month off following an exhaustive two-plus year tour schedule behind their debut, Silversun Pickups locked themselves in a rehearsal room to begin work on their follow up. Aubert points out this scheduled seclusion was a different approach for the band: "During 'Carnavas' we were in and out of the studio often because we were touring behind our EP 'Pikul'. We had to stop and start and stop and start, which was a little frustrating and crazy. This is the first time we've ever actually written anything straight through, then gone into a studio."

THE VON BONDIES 'Love, Hate And Then There's You' Ltd 2CD / Ltd LP Release Date 13/04/2009

The Von Bondies are from Americaland. They consist of Jason Stollsteimer [vocals/guitar], Don Blum [drums], Leann Banks [bass] and Christy Hunt [guitar]. 'Love Hate And Then There's You' is their third album thus far in a pleasingly traumatic career, and features 12 tracks of thigh-gripping, powerpop-pumping melodic joy. Old school fans might care to relish the garage ruckouts of 'Shut Your Mouth' and 'She's Dead To Me'; radio freaks should beam along with the shiny chaos of 'Only To Haunt You' or 'Shine' or lead-off single, the rumblesome 'Pale Bride'. And value-for-money makers should delight in the fact that this deluxe Fierce Panda release comes with a bonus CD featuring five Von Bondies previously unreleased demo tracks. This is just as well, as half a decade has passed since the last time the Von Bondies impinged upon the public consciousness when the 'Pawn Shoppe Heart' album was driven along by the success of the anthemic 'C'mon C'mon' in 2004. Just as their Fierce Panda predecessors The Spinto Band, The Raveonettes and The Walkmen remained heartily unflustered by parting company with their major label paymeisters, so Stollsteimer set to work creating some brand now Bondies themes. And here they are on 'Love Hate And Then There's You' in their full fuzzy FM-friendly fury, proud of riff, raw of emotion and hectic of harmony.

GRATEFUL DEAD 'To Terrapin: Hartford CT' 3CD Release Date 13/04/2009

'Follow The Dead On The Road To Terrapin' – Three-disc set contains legendary final show of the Spring 1977 tour at the Hartford Civic Center, and spotlights tracks from the then unreleased album 'Terrapin Station'. 'To Terrapin: Harford '77' revisits that glorious spring evening in New England, presenting the entire show, mastered from the original soundboard tapes. The three-disc set contains 21 unreleased live songs and an extensive 16-page booklet featuring rare photos taken at the actual concert. This release showcases several live versions of ambitious works from 'Terrapin Station' that would become beloved staples of the Grateful Dead's repertoire. The first of these was 'Estimated Prophet', Bob Weir and John Barlow's portrait of a particularly Californian breed of delusional would-be visionary, which managed to be at once uplifting and disturbing, thanks to the incantory lyric and to Weir's ingenious musical setting, a sinuous Reggae-flavoured groove knocked beautifully off-kilter by a 7/4 time signature. The second major new piece, which would take up the entire second side of the LP, was utterly unlike anything the Dead had attempted before: the epic, allegorical 'Terrapin Station' suite – as felicitous a marriage of music and storytelling as was ever accomplished by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter in the course of their long and fruitful collaboration. By the time the tour reached its triumphant finale in Hartford on May 28, it was readily apparent that the new songs – including the Phil Lesh/Peter Monk rocker 'Passenger' and Bob Weir's red-hot reinvention of the Rev Gary Davis gospel-blues classic 'Samson And Delilah' – could stand proudly alongside such long-standing pillars of the Dead canon as 'Bertha', 'Sugaree', 'Jack Straw', 'Candyman', 'Playing In The Band', 'One More Saturday Night' and the other standbys heard on this recording.
