ASWAD 'City Lock' [Release Date 29/06/2009]


29th June 2009, sees the release of 'City Lock' the brand new album from the legendary Aswad. The album, the band's first studio outing in 10 years, features the brand new single, a fantastic version of the classic 'What Is Love?' originally a massive hit for Howard Jones, that is released as a single on 22nd June. The album 'City Lock' is the perfect antidote to those long hot summer days and alongside the single 'What Is Love?' features the magical 'Monday Morning', eclectic 'Maybe Tonight' and the true to form dubwise vibes of 'Natural Progression'. ALEXISONFIRE 'Old Crows / Young Cardinals' [Release Date 22/06/2009]


Roadrunner Records are pleased to release 'Old Crows/Young Cardinals', the fourth full-length disc from the Juno-award winning Alexisonfire. The St Catharines, Ontario-based quintet have set a June 22 launch for the highly anticipated follow-up to the band's Platinum-selling album 'Crisis' which debuted at #1 in the Canadian charts, and sold over 30,000 units in the UK. 'Old Crows/Young Cardinals' was recorded in February 2009 at Armoury Studios (Vancouver, BC) and Silo Recordings (Hamilton, ON) and is co-produced by Alexisonfire alongside Julius 'Juice' Butty (who produced previous albums Watch Out! and Crisis). The legendary Nick Blagona also engineered the album at the Armoury Studio sessions. Singer George describes the album in the most proficient manner, "'Old Crows/Young Cardinals' was built on the foundation of 'Crisis'. Musically it moves at a feverish pace. LINKIN PARK / VARIOUS ARTISTS 'Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen OST' [Release Date 22/06/2009]


Reprise Records will release the soundtrack to the hotly anticipated feature film 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' on June 22nd. The film, the sequel to the 2007 Oscar-nominated summer blockbuster Transformers, hits theatres nationwide on June 24th. The film's director and executive producer Michael Bay asked Warner Bros Records multi-platinum rock band Linkin Park to provide the sonic backdrop to the live-action robot fantasy film. Not only did the band write and record the film's theme song, entitled 'New Divide', specifically for the soundtrack, they were also asked by Bay, Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer, and award-winning composer Steve Jablonsky to contribute to the score. Transfomers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Album also features music from Green Day (who contribute '21 Guns' – a song from their new album 21st Century Breakdown), Taking Back Sunday, The Used, The All-American Rejects, Cavo, The Fray, Staind, Nickelback, Cheap Trick and more. Opening in theatres on June 24th, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro. In Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) again joins with the Autobots against their sworn enemies, the Decepticons.
