Metallica Unveils First Cliff Burton Biog: Metallica have revealed the first biography of their much missed bassist Cliff Burton.

‘To Live Is To Die: The Life And Death Of Metallica's Cliff Burton’ is being sold by the band’s official store, and is written by Classic Rock Magazine contributor Joel McIver.

The book contains interviews with many of the bassist’s closest friends and colleagues, including Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, who also contributes the Foreword.

Burton played on the band’s first three albums before he was tragically killed in a bus crash while Metallica were touring in Sweden in 1986.

“I’m deeply honoured that Kirk spoke to me for the Cliff Burton biography,” McIver told Blabbermouth.net. “We talked about the rollercoaster ride of Metallica’s early career which he and Cliff experienced, from the time that both men joined the band in early 1983 until Cliff’s death three and a half years later. The impact that Burton had on the rest of Metallica, both musically and as an example of how to stick to your principles in the music industry, was profound — and Kirk provided a perspective on that impact which couldn’t have come from anywhere else.”

Kiss Four Days From Finishing New Album: Kiss are just four days away from finishing their brand new studio album, according to Paul Stanley.

In a post on the band’s official website guitarist Paul Stanley, who is also producing the record, says that the album looks set to be something special.

“We're about four days from finishing the new KISS album. Eleven tracks, and it IS everything I've told you. It IS classic. It IS all written within the band. And IT ROCKS BIG TIME! Tommy and Eric both handle lead vocals. The songs, sound and playing will knock your socks off. You will all be as proud and excited as we all are. Oh…and WAIT till you see the cover!”

Details of the album have been scarce, with no title or song names being revealed but the band hope to have the record out this year as they head out on a huge US tour.
