MOBY 'Wait For Me' [Release Date 29/06/2009]
Moby's own label Little Idiot Records releases Moby's new album 'Wait For Me' June 29th. A resolutely DIY effort, Moby recorded the album in his home studio ("although 'studio' always seems like an overly grand word for a bunch of equipment set up in a bedroom."), drew the album artwork with a black sharpie on copy paper, asked his friends to record the vocals ("working with friends is almost always nicer than working with rock stars") and asked another friend, photographer Jessica Dimmock, to take the press photos. In addition, friend Ken Thomas [Sigur Ros, Throbbing Gristle, M83] came on board to help mix the record: "mixing the record with him was really nice, as he's creatively open to trying anything – like recording an old broken bakelite radio and running it through some broken old effects pedals to see what it would sound like. It's on the record as a :45 second long track called 'stock radio'". Moby and Thomas mixed the record using purely analog equipment in true stereo, akin to how records were mixed in the late 60's. As a result, the songs sound pretty amazing on headphones. The songs also sound best when listened to as a cohesive body of work. While each track stands on its own merit, 'Wait For Me' was recorded and arranged to be listened to from start to finish. In today's single-driven music industry an album that holds together as a collective entity is a rarity. An album that holds itself to standards higher than commercial measures of success is even more rare.

SPIRIT 'Rockaplast: West Coast Legends Volume 3' [Release Date 29/06/2009]
The band's concert turned out to be one of the highlights of the first Rockpalast series (1977 to 1986). At the tender age of fifteen, Randy California had played with Jimi Hendrix and his band of that time, Jimi James and the Blue Flames. Hendrix even wanted to take him to Europe, but Randy's mother decided that her son was too young and moved back to California with him. That his guitar style was strongly influenced by Jimi became apparent during the Rockpalast concert when he performed Hendrix versions of the Dylan numbers 'Like A Rolling Stone' and 'All Along The Watchtower', adding an imposing bass foundation with his Moog synthesizer, which he operated like the foot pedal of an organ. Randy and his stepfather, drummer Ed Cassidy, had been the hard core of the numerous Spirit line-ups since 1968. Cassidy's drum set-up was impressive and included – like a classical orchestra – two timpani. His drum solos were considered highlights of the concert. Larry "Fuzzy" Knight completed the three-piece whose sophisticated arrangements consisting of rock, jazz, blues and psychedelic elements still had all the power of a "simple" classic rock trio. A special highlight came towards the end of the show when Dickey Betts, who had appeared on stage with his band Great Southern before Spirit, brought out his wall of amps again to jam with Spirit. One review even claimed that this jam had been the best performance broadcast by German television by that time. His melodious Southern rock guitar presented a striking contrast with Randy California's tougher guitar style. Back then, it was still possible on ARD TV to broadcast the Rockpalast night "open ended", i.e. the show wasn't over before the last note had been played. First time on CD. Features Dickey Betts as special guest. One of the best concerts of the first Rockpalast series.
DICKEY BETTS & GREAT SOUTHERN '30 Years Of Southern Rock' [Release Date 29/06/2009]

Dickey Betts is not an unknown to those who are familiar with American rock music. He was one of the original members of the Allman Brothers Band and formed his own band Great Southern in 1976. Nowadays, Dickey Betts and Great Southern are considered to be one of the most important and influential southern rock bands of all times. First time on CD. Includes two concerts from 1978 and 2008. Featuring the hits 'Ramblin' Man', 'Jessica', 'In Memory Of Elisabeth Reed' from one of the most important Southern Rock bands.

THE AMAZING BLONDEL 'Bad Dreams' [Release Date 13/07/2009]
Never before available on CD. Originally released 1976. The band has a cult status and this long awaited album will be greatly sought after. With the departure of John Gladwin in 1973, Eddie Baird and Terry Wincott decided to continue The Amazing Blondel. Eddie took up writing most of the material and whilst it was still of an acoustic-folk base it now had a slightly more commercial bent. The new line-up of Baird and Wincott was now established and the fan base continued to grow even if on a more commercial line. Constant touring and radio appearances kept the band in the public eye and certain tracks within the album became standards like 'The Lovers', 'On A Night Like This' and 'Love Song'.
