With its infectious repetition of "open up your, open up your throat", it's the most spine-tingling album closer of the year, from one of the greatest albums of 2009. 'Brother Sport' is available on 10" and is backed with a live version of a brand new track 'Bleeding', recorded recently at Big Sur in

SUFJAN STEVENS & STEPHEN HALKER ‘Super Teenage Hooper Heroes’ [Release Date 09/11/2009]
Sufjan Stevens' 'The BQE' further extends its mythology by anthropomorphizing the expressway and its theoretical conceits into a 40-page comic book [cover by Matt Loux, masthead by Christian Acker], in which three extra-terrestrial superhero sisters [Botanica, Quantus, and Electress] use hula-hoops to combat the 'the Messiah of Civic Projects,' Captain Moses, and his totalitarian social architecture. The comic book, written by Stevens and gorgeously drawn, coloured, and inked by longtime friend and collaborator Stephen Halker, visualizes in graphic form many of the political motifs of the movie and soundtrack: mid-century urban theory, modernism, post-modernism, hoop dynamics, and the spiritual practice of Subud!
HANK WILLIAMS ‘The Unreleased Recordings’ [Release Date 09/11/2009]
At the peak of his career in 1951, Hank Williams had a daily fifteen-minute show sponsored by Mother's Best flour and farm feeds. WSM Radio brought him into the studio to pre-record shows that would air when he was out of town. Hank sang with his regular studio band and performed his hits as well as songs he never recorded commercially anywhere else, like old hymns and family favourites.
He recorded onto sixteen-inch acetate discs meant to be played only once or twice. Improbably, some of those discs have survived. These recordings give us a deeper insight into Hank's life and music, showing a personality that had never been revealed previously. They showcase his humour as he jokes with his band and the emcee, his love of music as he talks unguardedly about his favorite songs, and captures him in his prime. They are three-dimensional portraits of one of the giants of American music.
Following our critically-acclaimed 3-CD box set release of Hank Williams: The Unreleased Recordings in October 2008, Time Life is now proud to release this collectible vinyl edition featuring the best of some of these shows. One listen and you're in another place and time, hearing the history of country music up until 1951 filtered through the music's all-time greatest artist.

STEPHEN STILLS ‘Live At Shepherds Bush Empire’ [Release Date 02/11/2009]
In October 2008, Stills played a career-spanning concert at Shepherds Bush that was captured for this brand new CD/DVD set. Playing both solo-acoustic and full band sets, Stills touched on nearly every facet of his prolific career: Buffalo Springfield (Bluebird, For What It’s Worth, Rock & Roll Woman); CSN (Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Helplessly Hoping, Southern Cross); CSNY (Woodstock, Carry On); early solo (Love The One You’re With, Marianne); Manassas (And So Begins The Task, Isn’t It About Time); Stills/Young (Long May You Run); and later solo (Treetop Flyer, Wounded World). THE DOORS ‘Live In
Rhino is proud to announce the 'The Doors – Live In New York' boxset, available for release on November 9th, 2009. This 6-CD collection will contain all of the Doors' performances in their entirety recorded in 1970 at the Felt Forum. All four shows were mixed and mastered by the band's long-time engineer, Bruce Botnick, who recorded a number of shows from their 1970 tour. While most of the music in the collection has never been released, a few songs appear in the 1970 release, 'Absolutely Live' and in 1997 on 'Box Set'.
Recorded January 17th and 18th, 1970, just a few weeks before the release of 'Morrison Hotel', these concerts find Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek locked in tight as they deliver smoking takes on soon-to-be-classics from their forthcoming album, including 'Roadhouse Blues', 'Peace Frog', 'Ship Of Fools' and 'Maggie M'Gill'. The shows also feature a few driving blues covers, such as Bo Diddley's 'Who Do You Love', Howlin' Wolf's 'Back Door Man' and John Lee Hooker's 'Crawling King Snake'. Hoffman, and the graciousness of Max Yasgur's address to the crowd, heard for the first time in its entirety.

JAY FARRAR & BENJAMIN GIBBARD ‘One Fast Move Or I'm Gone: Kerouac's
Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie) has co-written the soundtrack for this film with Jay Farrar (Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt). If you aren't familiar with Jack Kerouac's books – he is a bit of a cult icon around the world and is recognized as one of the leading beat poets if not the leading pioneer in the Beat Generation. His friends were Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs and Neal Cassidy. Also iconic in their own right. He has inspired so many past writers and musicians and continues to do so into modern day. Kerouac is mostly noted for 'On The Road' & 'Dharma Bums' which many of you may have read at some point…
'One Fast Move or I'm Gone: Music From Kerouac's Big Sur' features 12 original songs, composed and performed by Farrar and Gibbard, with lyrics based on the prose of Jack Kerouac's landmark 1962 novel 'Big Sur'. The album will be released October 20 along with a feature-length documentary of the same title in which both Gibbard and Farrar appear.

BIFFY CLYRO ‘Only Revolutions’ [Release Date 09/11/2009]
"It's a woeful soul who can listen to 'Only Revolutions' without feeling exhilarated" – The Observer Music Monthly
"'Only Revolutions' has enough in the way of nous, intelligence and tunes to broaden their audience immeasurably… it makes a convincing case for the trio as future players on an international scale." – Q
Biffy Clyro have announced that they will be releasing their new album, 'Only Revolutions', on 9 November 2009 through 14th Floor Records. The album will be preceded by the anthemic new single 'The Captain' on October 26th.
Coming after the mammoth success of fourth album 'Puzzle', which entered the charts at #2 and marked Biffy Clyro's transformation into a truly world beating band, 'Only Revolutions' is a further step-up for the Ayrshire trio in an album filled with joy, grit and absolute determination.
'Only Revolutions', Biffy Clyro's fifth album and second with 14th Floor Records, was recorded in LA, once again with producer GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers) at the helm, and mixed by Andy Wallace (Coldplay, Nirvana). Multiple Grammy-winning composer David Campbell – who has worked with an array of legendary talents including Marvin Gaye, Bob Dylan, Metallica and Radiohead, and who won an Oscar for the score to '
After the overwhelming sadness of 'Puzzle', 'Only Revolutions' sees a more hopeful side to Biffy Clyro. The songs are perfectly crafted and full of the idiosyncrasies that define the band's unique take on contemporary rock. The album is heralded with the military thump of 'The Captain' before it erupts into a rush of serrated riffs and euphoric horns. Further highlights include the stripped down agony / ecstasy dilemma of 'God and Satan', the soaring power of the hauntingly romantic 'Man of Horror' and the visceral nastiness of 'Shock Shock'.

Incorporating the warmth, melodies and simplicity of 70's and 80's California rock/pop, 'Battle Studies' is a confessional, relaxed and liberated album recorded in a private home in California where Mayer lived and worked over the course of six months before wrapping at the famed Capitol Studios in Los Angeles.
The album's first single, 'Who Says' challenges conventional standards of what one can accomplish or undertake – despite society's constraints. 'Battle Studies' also showcases universal themes on 'Heartbreak Warfare', 'Assassin' and 'War of My Life,' while flexing guitar chops on 'Rock Song,' and a reinterpretation of 'Crossroads.'
