Abbey Road crossing is listed

The zebra crossing made famous on the cover of The Beatles Abbey Road album has been Grade II listed.

Minister for Tourism and Heritage John Penrose made the decision to protect the piece of road furniture on west London’s Abbey Road after taking advice from English Heritage.

It is the first crossing of its kind to be afforded such protection and the move follows the listing of Abbey Road Studios in February.
