This month marks the 40th anniversary of the death of legendary 'The Doors' frontman Jim Morrison. Counted as part of the '27 Club' phenomenon due to being one of the five famous rock-star's who tragically passed away at the early age of 27 along with Hendrix, Joplin, Cobain and Brian Jones. Though no autopsy was performed, Morrison's death is listed as being due to heart failure on July 3 1971, Paris, France.
A fabulously unique Artist, remembered for his poetic lyricism and wild personality as much as his pioneering vocal style and video direction, Morrison was one of the most dynamic performers in music history. With rock classics like Riders On The Storm and Light My Fire surviving as cornerstones of rock music to this day, plus new 'The Doors' film 'When You're Strange' [narrated by Johnny Depp] being recently released, the singer remains a true icon 4 decades on!
Hats off to Mr. Mojo Risin'!
