Don Was joins Blue Note

Was (Not Was) bassist/vocalist 'Don Was' has joined Blue Note as the long-running Jazz label's new Chief Creative Officer.

Notable for his songwriting along with producing acts that include such icons as Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Iggy Pop, the musician was offered the position in the main due to recognition of this impressive production work. The label has clearly maximised on gaining a 'CCO' with hands-on experience as an artist and producer as opposed to "just another A&R person" with publicity and talent scouting knowledge.  Expanding further on the label that have brought us such timeless greats as Thelonious Monk Miles Davis and John Coltrane to name but a few, Mr. Was must surely be delighted with his new job!
