Glens Gig Guide: The Weeknd, Carcass, Gaslight Anthem and More This Week

Its that time of the week again where i try and give you a round up of the best gigs happening around the Capital this week. A relatively quiet week, but still enough to keep you occupied no matter what genre of music you go for!

March 25th:

The Weeknd – The Electric Ballroom, Camden


The critically acclaimed RnB singer The Weeknd comes to London for a 4 night residency at Camdens Electric Ballroom to perform tracks from his 3 previous mixtapes and hopefully some new music to to whet our appetites for a forthcoming album!

Beach House – Shepherds Bush Empire, Shepherds Bush


Beach House make dreamy pop music that conjures up images of living in house  by the sea.. much like their name suggests, and to experience it live is nothing short of fantastic. Returning to the Capital for a 2-night stand to play tracks from the last album Bloom, and from their vast back catalogue.

March 26th:

Carcass – The Underworld, Camden


The legendary death metal band Carcass are back, to perform tracks from their latest offering Surgical Steel, as well has classic tracks from their album Heartwork. Arguably one of the best in the genre of death metal, mixing brutality and melody in ways that have often been replicated but never duplicated. These 3 nights "Undertaking The Underworld" should not be missed!

March 28th

Broadway Calls – The Fighting Cocks, Kingston

Broadway calls
Broadway Calls return to Kingston to play the 150 capacity venue The Fighting Cocks, and their brand of dark pop punk should not be missed. Catchy melodies, hearfelt lyrics, and an all round good time is to be had at any of their shows! Dont say i didnt tell you not to miss it!

March 29th:

The Gaslight Anthem  - The Troxy, Tower Hamlets

Always a favourite in London town, Gaslight Anthem are back again for 2 nights at the Troxy for their 3rd tour in support of 2012's Handwritten. One of the best bands to come out of the rich soiled streets of New Jersey, and if you think their records are an emotional experience, see them live and even the toughest of men will leave with goosebumps

March 30th;

Dead Swans – The Garage, Highbury


This show will be a special night, as its the final show by one of the best hardcore bands to come out of the UK in recent years. I remember seeing their first show way back in 2007, and now we have reached the end. Its a shame to see these great friends of mine go, but im sure they will go out with a blast, DO NOT miss out on this, as you will regret it! Dead Swans 2007-2013 R.I.P
