Rare 1969 UK 11-track unboxed red label Mono compilation LP, laminated gatefold picture sleeve with die-cut mono indicator hole on the reverse with original red bordered mono inner. The sleeve on this copy shows only minimal laminate lift just near the spine with very few other signs of storage, a solid EX+ example. Whilst the labels show just minor spindlewear and the vinyl has several harilines these remain cosmetic and overall the disc is a strong VG+/EX- grading over forty years on! – great copy of this early pressing.
1965 UK first pressing 12-track mono LP on the 'rough' textured black and silver Fontana label. Their legendary debut attempting [and succeeding] to outdo The Stones with gritty versions of Bo Diddley songs such as Road Runner recorded way up into the red. The front laminated FLIPBACK picture sleeve with pinched spine remains in very good condition with a little wear to the corners, light overall laminate creasing [mainly to the edges] and onlyminimal shelfwear otherwise. The flipbacks remain in good order, the spine is fully legible and there are no seam splits with the non-laminated reverse free of any significant wear showing only minor discolouration with all its liner text legible, only the lightest spots of ring marking and no splits or tears. The labels show only very light spindlewear and despite the vinyl displaying a few light surface scuffs on play testing this copy sailed through as a VG+/EX grade with ease only revealing a little background noise at one or two quiet stages with no nasty pops or clicks and nice clarity throughout – overall extremely solid VG/VG+ example making for a superb starter copy of this amazing mono debut, enhanced by its above grade disc and with the rarer flipback sleeve variant, still in great condition and creeping close to its 50th birthday!
Very Rare 1965 UK RCA Victor 'red spot' label 12-track MONO vinyl LP, front laminated picture sleeve. The sleeve is in superb condition with intact edges & only one or two laminate creases and just minor discoluration to the non-laminated areas. The vinyl too is in great VG+/EX- condition with just a few light cosmetic surface scuffs/marks to show for its amazing forty eight years! – One of the toughest of the 'red spot' issues to find available at an advantageous price!
