So what is a test pressing?
It's a pressing made to test quality in advance of a longer run or for use as promos prior to finished promo or commercial product being available. Some test pressings have studio labels or just plain white labels instead of record company labels. Some test pressings have different catalogue numbers to domestic releases. Sometimes abbreviated to "T/P".

VAN MORRISON Astral Weeks – Ultra rare test pressing for the 1973 UK issue of the acclaimed 8-track LP, with plain white labels & machine stamped 'MID 6004 A1' & 'MID 6004 B1' catalogue number & matrices in the run-outs, housed in a plain white hand annotated card sleeve.

JIMI HENDRIX Rainbow Bridge – Test pressing for the 1971 UK 8-track vinyl LP, with plain white labels & machine stamped 'K44159 A1' & 'K44159 B1' catalogue number & matrices in the run-outs [note the European 'K54004' catalogue number is scratched out both sides], housed in a plain white hand annotated 'master' card sleeve. 

CURVED AIR Phantasmagoria – Ultra rare test pressing for the 1972 UK 9-track LP, with plain white labels & machine stamped 'K46158 A1' & 'K46158 B1' catalogue number & matrices in the run-outs, plus hand scratched 'Rasputin' [side 1] & 'Robespierre' [side 2] markers from the engineers, housed in a plain white hand annotated card sleeve.
