MILES DAVIS Birth Of The Cool – Incredibly rare original 1956 US 11-track mono LP on the turquoise Capitol label, featuring early 1949 to early 1950 recording sessions that marked a turning point in jazz towards a more stylistic sound. Includes the masterful ‘Move’ and ‘Boplicity’. The heavy duty pasted sleeve is clean both sides & in gorgeous near mint condition, obtained from its one fastidious owner who bought the record brand new way back when. The vinyl too is super clean & approaching near mint, with only the very lightest signs of one or two plays in its day. An absolute beaut! T762



SONNY ROLLINS A Night At The Village Vanguard – Rare original 1957 US 6-track mono LP on the deep groove Blue Note label with West 63rd address both sides, NO ‘R’ trademark below ‘Note’ & ‘RVG’ stampers & ‘ear’ markings in the run-outs.Features Rollins at his absolute peak in a double live premiere of Sonny as leader of his own combo for the first time, with either Wilbur Ware or Donald Bailey on bass & Elvin Jones or Pete La Roca drums, housed in the first issue heavy dutypasted laminate sleeve. THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET Relaxin’ – Stunning & historic archive quality 1958 US 6-track mono vinyl LP, on the famous ‘fireworks’ black & yellow Prestige label with ‘W. 50th St. N.Y.C.’ address & a ‘deep groove’ in the label both sides. ‘RVG’ [Rudy Van Gelder] is etched in both the run-outs & ‘AB’ is engraved one side [Abbey Manufacturing].
