The long-awaited memoir of New York hip hop pioneers, The Beastie Boys, looks like it will be released this year. Mike D claimed that the as-yet-untitled project is due to be made available in the latter part of 2018.
The group’s surviving members, Mike D and Ad-Rock, started work on the memoir in 2013, with a view towards a 2015 release. Mike D spoke to Beats 1 about the book, where he divulged some more information.
“We’re actually going to finish it, and it’s going to come out finally,” he to Matt Wilkinson. “Like many things we embark on, there are many false starts and, honestly, directions we went in that we realized were not the directions we should be going in, but it’s gonna be coming out in the fall of this year.”
