The New York Contemporary Five – Vol. 1: Rare 1964 Danish 6-track LP on a red rough textured Sonet label, pressed on heavyweight 200gram vinyl & recorded on November 15, 1963 at the Jazzhus Montmartre, Copenhagen, gathering the titans of Freeform ideas in Jazz; Don Cherry, Archie Shepp, J.C. Moses, John Tchicai & Don Moore. This copy originates from the private collection of a former staff member for Dobells record shop in Charing Cross. The laminated picture sleeve [VG] has a 1″ piece of the flipback in the bottom rightcorner missing, with nice clean panels & just a little paper chipping & creasing in the corners. The vinyl is stunning Near Mint.
Rita Reys & The Pim Jacobs Trio featuring Kenny Clarke – Jazz Pictures At An Exhibition: Limited Edition 2006 Japanese 180gram Remastered Vinyl issue of the very rare 1961 10-track mono LP, originally a Dutch only release recorded at the Singer Concert Hall in Laren, Holland on October 12, 1961, with Wim Overgaauw on guitar & Pim’s brother Ruud Jacobs on bass. Comes housed in a beautiful deluxe silk laminated replica of the picture sleeve with Japanese insert & obi-strip. Jazz vocal heaven with Rita & Pim forming the perfect pair, a fact mirrored in their real-life marriage.
Sonny Clark – Cool Struttin’: 2004 Japanese Direct Transfer Cutting issue of the classic 1958 4-track LP, pressed directly from the metal master on 180gram newly blended colourless Virgin Vinyl. Also featuring Art Farmer, Jackie McLean, Paul Chambers & Philly Joe Jones, picture sleeve including a Japanese text insert and ‘100% Pure LP’ wrap-around full back obi-strip. This example remains in a ‘near as new’ condition.
