Trying to explain what exactly constitutes rock music could take a life time. It is one of the broadest genres, and can be given almost any prefix. Prog-rock, alt-rock, jazz-rock, punk rock, psych rock…. the list is endless. It has been the subject much discussion, and rock has even been declared dead on numerous occasions.
Judging by the amount of rare and collectable vinyl we see from almost every corner of the rock music lexicon, the genre is very much alive and well. Below are a few of the latest arrivals we have in stock, ready to find a place in your collection. You can search for your favourite artists in our store to see our full range.
Queen – Queen Rocks: 1997 UK first issue limited edition 18-track double LP compilation pressed on Heavyweight Vinyl, including No-One But You [Only The Good Die Young], hype stickered deluxe gatefold picture sleeve with lyrics printed inside complete with tracklisting inners. This copy has a promotional sticker on the reverse and remains in beautiful near as new condition.
Tyrannosaurus Rex – My People Were Fair & Had Sky In Their Hair… But Now They’re Content To Wear Stars On Their Brows: Rare Debut 1968 UK first press 12-track stereo LP, housed in the original front laminated flipback picture sleeve with illustrated lyric insert. The sleeve [VG+] shows some light age wear with secure flipbacks, no writing & all print clearly legible including along the spine. The colours remain rich & vivid & half a century on, this is as nice as you can expect. The vinyl grades VG/VG+ with some spindle marks & hairlines which have little effect on play. A nice, if not mint, example of this rare original.
Porcupine Tree – On The Sunday Of Life: Rare original 1992 UK 18-track double vinyl LP, the debut album from English progressive rock band, compiles material that Steven Wilson produced and recorded for two cassette-only releases, Tarquin’s Seaweed Farm from 1989 and 1991s The Nostalgia Factory, housed in the glossy gatefold picture sleeve with lyrics printed across the inside. There is some light shelfwear to the edges of the sleeve and despite a small pressing mark to Side A whichplays through without issue, the vinyl appears in near ‘as new’ condition!
