Trying to explain what exactly constitutes rock music could take a life time. It is one of the broadest genres, and can be given almost any prefix. Prog-rock, alt-rock, jazz-rock, punk rock, psych rock…. the list is endless. It has been the subject much discussion, and rock has even been declared dead on numerous occasions.
Judging by the amount of rare and collectable vinyl we see from almost every corner of the rock music lexicon, the genre is very much alive and well. Below are a few of the latest arrivals we have in stock, ready to find a place in your collection. You can search for your favourite artists in our store to see our full range.
Warhorse – Warhorse: Rare Heavy Progressive Rock 1970 UK first press 7-track stereo LP on the large Vertigo ‘swirl’ label with A2/B2 stamped matrices, complete with the original swirl poly lined inner & matte gatefold picture sleeve. This is another super hard to find Vertigo original. The sleeve [VG] has some scuffing & discolouring along the top edges [tiny paper tear on the inside panel], & remains very presentable, with all text clearly legible including along the spine & no writing. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned both sides & also achieves a healthy VG grade. There is a fair amount of spindle wear by the centre hole to show repeat play but little lessening in sound quality [no label tears or writing]. There is a faint hairline scratch that runs through the second track – once again this has very little effect on play & the vinyl plays higher than our conservative VG grade. By no means mint, this is still a superb copy of this rare & much in demand debut album £325
Splinter – Lonely Man: Rare 1975 Japanese only white title label promo sample vinyl 7″ for the single release, co produced by George Harrison, featuring both the English & Japanese versions of the title track, unique wraparound picture insert with lyrics inside with additional fold out picture insert. Apart from Library reference cataloguing stickers on the insert & labels, this copy remains in excellent condition with just a little fading to the edges of the vinyl which does not affectplay £295
Ryan Adams & The Cardinals – Easy Tiger: 2007 US strictly limited edition 13-track LP pressed on Orange coloured Vinyl- Ryan agrees that the tone of ‘Easy Tiger’ is different [not dark, just different] and suggests in passing that it may have something to do with both sobering up and growing up [he’s 32], includes the singles ‘Two’ [featuring Sheryl Crow on backing vocals] and the upbeat ‘Halloween Head’, presented in sticker-sealed PVC sleeve withinsert which folds out into a superb poster with lyrics and photos! £45
