For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.
While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals.
TLC – CrazySexyCool: 1994 UK 14-track vinyl LP, the massive-selling, critically acclaimed smash, featuring the single Waterfalls as well as Creep, Diggin’ On You and Red Light Special, picture sleeve with vintage price sticker. Depeche Mode – Songs Of Faith And Devotion: 1993 UK 10-track LP, including I Feel You, Walking In My Shoes & In Your Room, picture sleeve with the lyric inner and vintage price sticker. The sleeve has just a little edgewear and the vinyl is NearMint
Travelling Wilbury’s – Vol. 3: 1990 UK/German-pressed 11-track LP, the second album from the supergroup, including the singles She’s My Baby & Wilbury Twist, complete with illustrated inner featuring notes by Professor ‘Tiny’ Hampton & a step-by-step guide to doing the ‘Wilbury Twist’, and glossy picture sleeve. The sleeve displays minimal wear & the vinyl remains near ‘as new’, a fantastic example
